OUR HALLOWEEN WEDDING

Karen &  Mike's
Halloween Wedding

We share with you our joyous celebration of love shared with friends, family, psychopaths, and out-patients.

We exchanged our vows on the beautiful day of Halloween 2006 as our loved-ones loomed around to get a good view. It was not unlike vultures waiting to descend on their next meal triggered by the words "You may now kiss the bride." Followed by "Kiss her again! I didn't get a good shot! Kiss her again! Now with some tongue action! Kiss her again! Oh my God should they be doing that in public?"

This wonderfully fun ceremony just goes to show what can be accomplished with a complete lack of planning and no rehearsal.

As you can see by the pictures, this is what happens when nearly everyone arrives with either digital cameras or picture phones and few actually want to have physical evidence that they actually know these people!

These files are a full resolution so friends and family can save them at the highest quality. Unfortunately, this makes for long download times. Please be patient.

The ceremony raised a few eyebrows. Mostly those of the Justice of the Peace. Passersby were honking and yelling. They were either so overcome with emotion that they felt they had to feel a part of something special or the mere sight of the spectacle was too traumatic an event to go unchallenged, and it was just their way of saying "That's just not right!"

Highlights...

We would like to thank everyone for sharing our special time and making it all the more special. We can't thank enough all the effort put in by the "Crew" in helping with the reception.

Memorable Wedding Moments:
Last minute costume faux pas - Bride's Wig refused to stand at attention yet still could not be worn in the car because it was too tall. Spirit Gum & Cheap Costume makeup doesn't stick well to a groom that is sweating. This led to us arriving a few minutes late to the County Clerk's Office.
Paperwork at the Clerk's office now requires proof reading and approval at every step in the process. Even so, corrections still had to be made right before the ceremony.
The ceremony was to be on the outside lawn next door where everyone was to be waiting. Yet everyone with cameras wanted to get more shots of us exiting the Clerk's Office. So the number of guests waiting patiently where the ceremony was to take place. Zero! This led to everyone following and ultimately standing behind the Justice of the Peace instead of behind the Bride and Groom. Besides everyone had to get a good picture!
The Bride and Groom had to stop by their house to pickup the reception music. Ever tried to unwire a Surround Sound system with the subwoofer mounted in coffee table? That made us late for the reception.

Memorable Reception Moments:
We get a call on the way to the reception from Karen's Mom frantic about some food that was in the oven. We were the last ones out of the hall the night before and we didn't put any food in the oven. Turns out the hall had not been rented for almost a month and there was still food in the oven. Talk about Yuck!
We arrived at the reception almost an hour and a half behind schedule! We came to find out some guests arrived at the scheduled 3pm time to find the hall still locked. Since most guests were at the wedding ceremony, there was no way to know if anyone was waiting there.

All things considered, it was a very enjoyable time. So enjoyable that we are still recovering 2 days later, well 3 days later. We still have to finish unloading the car from the reception.

From our hearts, thank you all for making this a day to remember.
